Porcelain & Ceramic Tile
For the Bonita Springs, Naples & Fort Myers, FL Areas

The primary difference between ceramic and porcelain tile is how they are manufactured and their resulting density, durability, and water absorption rate. Porcelain is a denser, less porous, and more durable form of ceramic tile, making it ideal for high-traffic areas and wet environments.

Porcelain tile is made from denser clay at a higher temperature, creating a denser, more refined tile. It is, therefore, less prone to cracking and chipping. Both are water-resistant, but porcelain more so. Therefore porcelain is typically best for high-traffic areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas, while ceramic is best for walls, backsplashes, countertops, and flooring that sees less traffic.

Bonita Tile Market & Design has an excellent selection of both ceramic and porcelain tile. We serve people from throughout Southwest Florida, including Bonita Springs, FL; Naples, FL; and Fort Myers, FL. Unlike the big-box tile stores, we offer a very personalized experience. Instead of simply handing you a bunch of different samples and leaving you, we allow you to take samples home to make sure they fit with the rest of your home decor. We’d never let you purchase tile for your home that doesn’t fit. In other words, we don’t do ugly. We only carry products from the finest tile manufacturers, ones that we’d trust in our own homes.
